What is NDRE?
The Normalized Difference Red Edge (NDRE) is a vegetation index that utilizes the Near-Infrared (NIR) and Red Edge spectral bands. It is highly sensitive to chlorophyll content in leaves and is less prone to saturation in dense canopies compared to the traditional NDVI.
NDRE is widely used in remote sensing and precision agriculture for monitoring crop health, estimating nitrogen requirements, and mapping vegetation stress during mid-to-late growth stages.
